Dying to change you hair color MOMMY?

Many Fashionista Moms explore the beauty regimen of bleaching, dying, or highlighting their hair. Like most pregnant women, you probably have some hesitation about continuing to color your hair while baby is in your belly. Many doctors suggest to approach hair coloring with caution. Because the dye is absorbed through the scalp and into the body (it can be identified in urine). Many physicians advise holding off coloring hair with permanent dyes during the first trimester when your baby is undergoing important neurological developments. Coloring usually can then be resumed in the second or third trimester. Coloring your hair at home should be done in a well-ventilated room, with products with the fewest number of chemicals. Always wear gloves while handling the mixture. If you have your hair done in a salon, request the first appointment in the morning on their least busy day this will eliminate excessive chemical exposure.

All For the Babies

Now Fashionista Mommy's are not all about self; the babies come first. So for the summer time the babies have to be as fashionable as us FM's. There are some precautions that you need to follow when bringing your baby to the water.

Your babies skin is thinner and more sensitive making it more susceptible to burn more easily. Even babies with darker skin need protection from the sun. Babies under 6 months should be out of the sun, shade under a tree or umbrella is a good protection.

Use Sun Protective Wear for babies and children. Also, use a waterproof sunscreen that is made specially for young children. It should have a Sun Protective Factor (SPF) of at least 15. Always check with your pediatrician before using sunscreen on babies younger than 6 months. With the use of sunscreen, always put it on 30 minutes before taking your baby out into the sun. Many states require swim diapers when diaper-aged children use a public pool. When a swim diaper fits properly, most bacteria including E.coli are prevented from getting into the water. So lets stop pool accidents by using a swim diaper!

Swim diapers won't fall apart in the water and they prevent clogged pool filters. Swim diapers don't absorb water, they don't become waterlogged and heavy. Therefore, they do not absorb urine. If swim diapers would absorb urine they would also absorb water, potentially pulling baby under water. This is also goes for disposable swim diapers.

Reusable swim diapers can be washed and reused all season! There are many different styles, colors, and prints to choose from

Summer Summer TIME!

Summertime is a time to get outside, enjoy the beautiful weather while trying to keep cool, especially for moms-to-be and post pregnancy moms. Just because the sun is hot doesn't mean you have to sit in the air-conditioning all day.

Pregnancy and post pregnancy is always a great time to hang poolside. Bathing suit shopping is strenuous enough without being pregnant. But carrying a big belly can make finding the perfect bathing suit even more difficult. Post pregnancy moms may have the after causes from carrying your love muffin, such as, stretch marks and the awful pudge.  Don't worry I have found the best swimsuits to meet your needs.

Strut Your stuff Pregnant MOMMY's

It is a mistaken thought that pregnant women should not wear heels, although it is valid to some extent. But as Fashionista Mommy's it is impossible to avoid the wear of high heels during pregnancy. Gynecologists and Pediatricians advise not to wear high heels due to sudden increase in your belly there are greater chances of falling. It is perfectly alright to wear high heels, especially if you wear them well and balance yourself efficiently. Many celebrities are so awesome in wearing high heels because they attend several functions, award shows, premiers etc. that they become skilled, but for normal housewives who wears high heels quite occasionally it can be irritating and risky.

FM's Breastfeeding & Exercising

While regular exercise can help Fashionista Mommy's to get back in shape, there are some instructions to keep in mind. Wearing a good sports bra is a key essential too working out. A sports bra that constricts your breast too much can cause plugged ducts. Take on your work out routine slowly. Your breast will be larger in size so there will have to be some getting use to your new proportions. Weight loss should be done gradually, at least a pound a week or 4 pounds a month after your baby is born. Intake extra fluids during and after exercise. The chance of dehydration may affect your milk supply. Refuel your body, for breastfeeding moms require extra calories to produce enough milk and to restore the calories burned during the workout.

Baby Bump Be Gone

Now Mommy's I know after having a baby there may still be a little bump that may discourage you from being that Fashionista which you are. Don't fret, I have the solution to settle your worries. Tummy wrapping has been done for many generations but that latest trend in post pregnancy is the belly wrap. Belly wraps are found in most motherhood stores, but it is best to shop online to purchase one. These wraps are made to be worn after pregnancy day and night for its best results. Now, you can take it off for bathing and its best use is right after having a baby. The belly wrap can be worn under garments which helps the appearance of the baby bump but overtime flattens the tummy.

Denim DENIM denim that FM's(Fashionista Moms) should DO!

For 2010 the latest trend is the Top denim. If your a mom that has just given birth, still with-child, or a mom with seniority this is a fashion we all can rock. Although this is a tricky trend to wear, with the right guidance it can be trendsetting and cool. One rule to denim wearing is to not over- denimize. A light wash denim shirt and a dark wash cropped denim jean would do swell.

The Role of a Fashionista

The defining of a Fashionista can be explained as a person working or deeply involved with the high-fashion industry, such as a designer, model, photographer, buyer, writer, wearer; a devotee to clothing fashion. Who better to play this role but a MOMMY. We all know Moms are the most roleplaying organisms on the earth. From juggling day time jobs, to preparing meals to eat. Before being a mom I was a Fashionista-dressing in the latest fashions, wearing the latest styles while freelance modeling around the U.S., styling friends and family, and being knowledgeable on current trends. Now after giving birth I feel the Fashionista in me has only excelled. Not only do I have to style myself but I have a mini me to garb and mold. Being a Mommy should not stop a woman from being fashionable. From this blog I want to encourage and deliver knowledge to women on how to keep the inner Fashionista afloat.
