SNAP!CRACKLE!SHATTER? OPI!

ITS HERE! OPI  released their "BLACK SHATTER" nail polish from the Katy Perry & Serena Williams Collections. As I was waiting for mines to arrive in the mail my friend whose blog is http://misspughgohardinthepaint.blogspot.com/ had received hers and let me use it. I ran to the nail shop asap to get a manicure. I love this polish! Here are some instructions on how to use the polish:  

Step 1: Start with clean nails and apply your base coat.

Step 2: Apply your nail color as usual. Depending on the colors your use, you can get away with using a single coat as long as it’s even. While skipping the top coat, allow your nails to completely dry so the crack polish doesn’t penetrate to the nail color and dissolve it. Your manicure will be splotchy if you skip this important step.
Step 3: Apply a thin coat of crack polish, making sure not to go over the same section more than once.

Step 4: Depending on the brand of crack polish you use, this step is optional. OPI “Black Shatter” has a matte black finish so you can leave it matte or apply a topcoat for a high gloss finish.

FAB Mommy Gisele Bundchen's Graces Vogue 2011

Victoria's Secret Model and Fab Mommy Gisele Bundchen hits the cover of Vogue 2011. This fab mom who gave birth  to a baby boy (Benjamin) back in 2009 by husband Tom Brady looks spectacular in this spread. Inside she stars in a rubber-themed shoot from photographer Steven Meisel.

Gisele also was on the cover of Vogue's annual Shape Issue. Just six weeks after giving birth to her first child, the supermodel -- who gained 30 pregnancy pounds -- was back to her sleek and sexy self in a bright orange single-sleeve top and khaki hot pants by Stella McCartney, earrings by nOir jewelry, and Slane & Slane bangles. For her first big post-baby shoot, Bündchen was photographed by Patrick Demarchelier at the getaway home she shares with NFL star hubby in Costa Rica.

Following Benjamin's birth, she didn't leave her Boston apartment for six weeks. Instead she relied on living-room yoga sessions and muscle memory to get herself back into shape.

Fab MOM Gwen Stefani in Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week 2011

This season  Fashionista Mommy Gwen Stefani packed the Theatre at Lincoln Center to show her 2011 spring collection; the front row with the rest of her No Doubt band mates. The show was said to be filled with the music of Jay-Z and Sean Paul livening up the room. Models strutted fiercely down the runway in African and Caribbean influenced pieces. This collection reflected Stefani’s unique energy and aesthetic. From beautiful, tribal printed asymmetrical dresses, styled with trendy fedoras, to cropped mini skirts and blazers, the collection was an eclectic mix.

HOW 2 DO- Home Manicures

Not all great manicures are done in a salon... they're also done at HOME! All it takes is the right tools and a little bit of practice to give yourself salon-style manicures without leaving home.
Here's a list of basic nail grooming tools that you should have.

Nail file or emory board
Cuticle trimmer
Nail buffer (block)
Cuticle sticks/pushers
Non-acetone polish remover
Cotton balls
Cuticle oil with vitamin E
Clear nail polish base/top coat
Nail polishes in your choice of colors
Hand lotion with aloe
Q-tips or nail polish corrector pen

Begin by washing hands thoroughly with lukewarm, soapy water. Dry thoroughly (water and excess oils on the nails will cause polish and other elements not to adhere properly). Using wooden cuticle stick, gently push cuticles back. If hangnails are present, gently trim with cuticle cutters. Do not cut the actual cuticle. While pushing cuticles back, you may use a cotton ball to massage cuticle oil onto and around nailbed. Be sure to wipe excess off nail before polishing. To gain a perfect polished look, first apply base coat. Let dry. Apply 2 coats of polish, allowing adequate time to dry between coats. Apply a strong topcoat. You may want  to purchase a quick dry finishing spray to encourage faster drying time, but you will still need to be careful with your nails for about an hour after polishing. You can correct any mistakes by using a small q-tip dipped in polish remover or a nail polish corrector pen.

When you need to remove polish, be sure to use a non-acetone remover so that your nails will not become overly dry. You may want to try a product such as Pretty Nails, a container of polish remover that contains a sponge. Fingers are quickly dipped into sponge and polish is removed. Be sure to wash hands thoroughly and apply moisturizer after using a polish remover. If your not wearing colored polish, it is best to wear one to two coats of a clear nail protector in order to encourage nail maintenance.
