LACE & SHEER: SPRING/SUMMER 2011 TREND

Its funny how trends are recycled throughout generations but are tweaked a little to make it more modern. I remember watching hippee flicks and seeing them draped in Lace & Sheer outfits.  I always made the reference that Lace was a beautiful yet sensual fabric and Sheer was daring and sexy. Its really how you piece the fabrics together.

For instance:
Lace looks good combined with other fabrics or by itself. Too much is unflattering.

NICKI MINAJ graces ELLE MAGAZINE MAY 2011 spread

I think this is the modest Ive seen Nicki so far. I love not seeing a her as such a sex symbol but very lady-like and GORGE!

She fashionably rocks of looks by Mark Fast, Givenchy, and Jean Paul Gaultier. The stylist for the shoot really did a great job of toning down her "comical" look and making her effortlessly FIERCE!

SAY IT ISN'T TRUE!

The fashion industry journal (PARIS) said Galliano, 50, had been "formally sacked" by directors of the John Galliano label, which is 91 percent owned by Dior.




Dior, controlled by French luxury goods tycoon Bernard Arnault, abruptly fired Galliano on day one of Paris fashion week in March as he was formally charged with uttering anti-Semitic insults at a cafe in the French capital.




Last weekend, Galliano (who has denied the allegations against him and reportedly checked into an Arizona rehab clinic) was seen at Los Angeles airport where he was heckled by a photographer, the TMZ celebrity website said.

I LOVE NATURAL HAIR!

I'm so digging the Natural Curls hairstyle. Being that I have naturally curly hair I tend to always wear it straight but a conversation with my husband made me think about the old days of rockin' my natural hair. I don't have a relaxer of any type but my hair has trained itself to lay straight from blow drying and flat ironing so, it will take some time for it get be back to its normal tresses.

People often think that its easy being natural but it isn't!
The biggest obstacle is the "Fear of rejection". Women who play with the idea of going natural, have to face is the fear of rejection. Even though some people will say this is a myth; it so isn't. The notion of having good/bad hair still plays a role in today's society.

Styling & Maintenance
Healthy hair is the foundation of all good hair styles: deep condition and oil your hair and scalp weekly (preferably Indian hemp oil or coconut oil). If you have a drier scalp than most every two or three days is good. (not everyday because that can lead to build up)

Avoid stress on the hair at night, don't wear a ponytail to bed. Braid or plait the hair and then wrap with a scarf.

Experiment with styles. Just because your natural doesn't mean your confined to wearing an AFRO!

FAB MOM Nicole Richie Attends Coachella Music Festival

Our FAB mommy Nicole Richie attended the Coachella Music Festival this Saturday (April 16) at the Parker Palms Springs in Palm Springs, Calif. The barbecue, which was thrown by Mulberry and I can say Nicole looked fab and relaxed.

WE love this FAB MOM!

Nicole Richie wore a Mulberry "Annie" silk blouse, and carried a Mulberry small Heritage Bayswater satchel in pheasant green. Her shoes were strappy wedges from her House of Harlow 1960 collection.
