Rachel Zoe + Maternity Line = FABULOUSITY

So we are happy to announce that our sister in our eyes (Bravos reality star/ Stylist to the stars) Rachel Zoe and husband Roger Berman are expecting their first child in the spring. This pregnancy has inspired Zoe to create her own maternity line. This is an awesome ordeal due to the fact she is such a huge FASHIONISTA. Rachel being the star of The Rachel Zoe Project is already the head designer behind a line of clothing and accessories for home shopping network QVC.

Looking at Zoe’s maternity style, we can probably expect to see flowing maxi and chiffon dresses, like the black dress she is wearing at the Lupus LA Bag Ladies Luncheon. According to In Touch, “Rachel wants to be stylish during her pregnancy, so she’s making many of her own clothes. She’s excited about becoming a mom and expanding her line.”

Being MODEST is Fashion!

I have felt that women who are pushing the limits of modesty with their provocative dress are trying to “feel like women." The saying "less isn't always best" is very true. Women don't have to reveal so much skin to be sexy, debonair, fashionable, or in trend. I felt that is was a duty being of Muslim faith to make a blog based upon Islamic garbing. It is in the Islamic religion that women dress modest and non-revealing, The Holy Quran states: Surah an-Nur verse 31 reads:

And say to the faithful women to lower their gazes, and to guard their private parts, and not to display their beauty except what is apparent of it, and to extend their head coverings (khimars) to cover their bosoms, and not to display their beauty except to their husbands, or their fathers, or their husband's fathers, or their sons, or their husband's sons, or their brothers, or their brothers' sons, or their sisters' sons, or their womenfolk, or what their right hands rule (slaves), or the followers from the men who do not feel sexual desire, or the small children to whom the nakedness of women is not apparent, and not to strike their feet (on the ground) so as to make known what they hide of their adornments. And turn in repentance to God together, O you the faithful, in order that you are successful.

I have noticed the lack of fashion that goes into dressing modest and wanted to show some ways to accomplish this fashion yet being trendy. There have been many celebs that have worn modest clothing and Islamic fashions have also hit the runway. Dressing modest doesn't mean you have to wear froppy or bland clothing, it simply means wearing correct lengths, sizes, non revealing, and complimentary clothing.

Expecting Moms get married TOO!lol

This is the scenario: SO you meet the love of your life and want to tie the knot, that's perfect, you plan the perfect wedding and at the perfect time. So lalalalalalalalalala times goes by and your now an expecting mom with an upcoming wedding. No fret wedding gowns are made for expecting moms as well. A perfect designer is Isabella Oliver, a British online fashion designer based in London that has dressed pregnant celebrities such as Angelina Jolie, Jessica Alba, Gwen Stefani and Heidi Klum to name a few.

Another great designer originating from Vermont is  Maternity Bride.Maternity Dresses by Jessica Charles.  Maternity Bride is also a great "GO Green" business. They have become a source of many natural, organic, and consciously manufactured fabrics, offering different options depending on your needs... cruelty free vegan silks, organic cottons, recycled polyester satin, remnant fabrics, undyed / bleached, vegetable dyed and/or chemical free dyed silks, vintage trim and more are incorporated into their designs and available by request.

When finding the perfect wedding gown the comfortablitity, availability, accommodation to growth, an overall look are key elements. I find that these two designers have really made it their priority to mesh all of these elements into their philosophy. So Brides/Expecting Moms not need to get worried relax and get ready for two amazing moments of your life.

Dress like a CELEB for LESS

STYLE FOR LESSKim Kardashian on the red carpet. Look-a-like dress from LuLus for $69.00

Ladies I am here to save the day for dressing like a true Fashionista but on a budget. The key is finding the right pieces at the right places for the right price. Its easy to dress like the celebs without clearing out your bank account. Quality is the ultimate essential in dressing in style but on a budget. Having a garment made from cheap material can always give away the cost. Also a key essential in shopping fashionably on a budget is "fit". If your garment does not lay properly in all the right places, this will make your outfit not only look unflattering but cheap as well. So Ladies lets shop wisely and costly. Here are some example:

Lets get Nail Vicious!

Its not just the perfect shoe and bag to make an overall look pop. Your Nails are another key essential that can define your sense of style. Presently nude shades are running the town but for the upcoming spring/2011 these are some of the fashions and styles you will be see:

Moon Manicures: Sometimes you need more than a steady hand to get these moon shapes looking crisp. A nail art pen offers you more control if you can't manage a brush!

Metallics & Silver/Gold Foil: Paint a layer of clear basecoat and messily apply gold/silver foil onto your nail tips with a tweezer. Wait until dry, crumble the excess gold/silver foil off, then secure with a layer of clear topcoat. To wear the look with gold/silver polish, use a small piece of plastic to block the parts of your nail you don't want to paint, and randomly reposition it on your nail as you apply gold polish to the tips with short strokes.

Pop Art Graphics :For the ultimoate graphic nail, a good Minx salon would so greatly. Otherwise some opaque nail precision pens and go wild!

Do IT Neutral Baby: Don't match the nude shade too closely to your skin tone, lest you want to look like you have mannequin hands. Go a few shades lighter or darker, and choose a color with a high gloss.

Decals: Some heavy-duty nail glue will ensure your decals stay put. Layer a fast-drying topcoat over to set everything in place. If you want the look but aren't ready to commit, look for polishes with large pieces of glitter.
