We have been dying to do a piece on the lovely Georgina Chapman, the co founder of Marchesa.Georgina Chapman (born April 14, 1976) is an English fashion designer and actress. Chapman is the daughter of Brian Chapman, millionaire businessman and owner of the organic coffee company, Percol. Georgina, alongside Keren Craig, an actress and a former model, are the co-founders of fashion label Marchesa.
In 2004, she and Craig launched Marchesa which is named after socialite Marchesa Luisa Casati.
Also in that same year Chapman started dating Harvey Weinstein. They married on December 15, 2007 in Connecticut. Weinstein is a co-founder of Weinstein Co. and Miramax and is 24 years older than Chapman. On August 30,2010 Chapman gave birth to the couple's first child, daughter India Pearl.
Unlike many of their red-carpet rivals, Marchesa does not advertise. They rely on coverage of its dresses at events to spread the word. Chapman states "When we first launched Marchesa it was really about utilising coverage of events in the weekly magazines to get our name out there." Marchesa has definitely come to rule the red carpet.
