THE ROYAL WEDDING



TRH Prince William, Duke of Cambridge and Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge smile with joy following their marriage at Westminster Abbey on April 29, 2011 in London, England. The marriage of the second in line was attended by 1900 guests, and led by the British throne was led by the Archbishop of Canterbury.






Kate Middleton arrived at Westminister Abbey wearing a wedding gown by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen. The ivory dress was adorned with long lace sleeves , sweetheart neckline, French Chantilly lace bodice and full skirt with train. Kate Middleton also wore a Cartier ‘halo’ tiara, which belongs to The Queen and was made in 1936.

Her earrings were Robinson Pelman and her shoes were hand made by the Alexander McQueen team out of ivory duchesse satin with lace hand-embroidered by the Royal School of Needlework.

The bouquet was designed by Shane Connolly,and the flowers in the bouquet mean Lily-of-the-valley: Return of happiness, Sweet William: Gallantry, Hyacinth: Constancy of love, Ivy: Fidelity; marriage; wedded love; friendship; affection and Myrtle: the emblem of marriage; love.





Kate Middleton’s sister Pippa Middleton also wore an altered Alexander McQueen (Pre-Fall 2009) dress in ivory satin-based crepe dress and cowl neckline.
